On 19 November 2025, the event 'Building the Future: Launching Europe’s Open Innovation Ecosystem for Construction' will take place in Brussels, gathering key actors from across the construction value chain. Organised by Metabuilding Labs, the event aims to accelerate innovation in façade and building envelope technologies through collaborative, cross-sectoral approaches.

The programme will feature opening remarks by Thomas Messervey (President of Metabuilding ASBL and CEO of R2M Solution), followed by a keynote address from a European Commission representative. Sessions will be chaired by Anne-Sophie Tardy (Construction21), with contributions from Stéphanie Decker (NOBATEK/INEF4), Emre Yöntem (ECOWISE), and Alain Zarli (ECTP), among others. Discussions will focus on the role of Open Innovation Test Beds (OITBs), digital services, and pilot buildings in supporting SMEs.

The event will also explore the long-term vision of establishing a pan-European innovation support infrastructure aligned with the Built4People Partnership. Attendees will gain insights into how the Metabuilding ecosystem fosters access to testing facilities, funding opportunities, and strategic partnerships—empowering SMEs to bring sustainable solutions to market more efficiently.
