Smart buildings and smart construction are rapidly reshaping how Europe designs, operates, and regulates its built environment. This sixth webinar in the Efficient Buildings Europe Implementation Guide series brings together leading voices from the European Commission, industry, and the research community to explore the policies, technologies, and practices driving this transformation. The first session will provide a clear overview of the EUโ€™s vision for smart buildings, complemented by recommendations from Efficient Buildings Europe on how Member States can integrate these principles into the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) implementation.

The second session turns to practical experience, showcasing how digital solutions, advanced lighting systems, and thermal comfort strategies are already improving building performance across Europe. Speakers from Autodesk, Signify, and SOMFY will share insights from real case studies, while the discussion will also touch on regulatory developments such as Franceโ€™s BACS (Building Automation & Control Systems) Decree. Together, these contributions will help participants understand how smart technologies and construction methods can support more efficient, resilient, and userโ€‘centred buildings.
