Energy Cities is coordinating a Community of Practice dedicated to one of today’s most urgent urban challenges: keeping our cities cool. As rising temperatures increase the demand for cooling, municipalities must act quickly to protect public health, ensure liveability, and reduce reliance on fossil‑fuel energy. This initiative offers city staff a collaborative space to discuss practical approaches, share experiences, and explore solutions for sustainably cooling the built environment.

The sessions are held online, in English, and are designed to be interactive and hands‑on. The upcoming meeting will examine why municipal cooling plans are essential, featuring a concrete example from Spain. It will also explore the role of heat pumps and other technologies in delivering efficient, low‑carbon cooling. Speakers include Isabela Leon (Ecodes), Albert Blasco (Panasonic Heating and Cooling Solutions Europe, European Heat Pump Association), and Nicolas Raimondi (Energy Cities), who will guide participants through emerging practices and actionable strategies.
