'Supporting EPBD Implementation: practical solutions developed by EU‑funded initiatives' takes place at a decisive moment, shortly before the deadline for transposition of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). Building on the momentum of Day 1 of the EPBD Implementation Days, the event focuses on the practical instruments, governance structures, data systems, and market conditions needed to translate policy ambition into effective delivery across Member States. Senior representatives from the Directorate‑General for Energy (DG ENER) and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA)—including Rosalinde van der Vlies, Serena Pontoglio, and Hans Rhein—will set the strategic framing for the day, highlighting how guidance, digitalisation, market uptake, and financing can work together to support implementation on the ground.
Throughout the programme, policymakers, national authorities, industry representatives, and EU‑funded project teams will present concrete solutions developed through European collaboration. Sessions will explore implementation tracking, observatories, indicators, and policy support, with contributions from experts such as Susanne Geissler, Andreas Hermelink, Simon Pezzutto, and Antonis Papanikolau. The event will also showcase technical frameworks, interoperability approaches, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI), renovation‑related tools, digital building data systems, and collaborative methods developed through initiatives such as openBEP4EU, iEPB, SmarterEPC, and BREEZE. By convening this broad community of practitioners, the event aims to strengthen a coherent support ecosystem and chart a shared pathway towards effective EPBD implementation across Europe.
