Energy agencies and one-stop shops are playing an increasingly important role in the energy transition. A new European programme aims to strengthen its capacity to support businesses in improving their energy efficiency.
The European project BUSINESS2ACT has launched a free support programme for energy agencies and one-stop shops to strengthen their ability to assist companies in their energy transition processes. The initiative comes at a time marked by the entry into force of new obligations stemming from the Energy Efficiency Directive, which requires greater involvement from the business sector in reducing energy consumption and emissions.
The programme will provide methodologies, diagnostic tools, action plan templates, and training activities designed to facilitate the implementation of energy management systems and the deployment of measures identified through energy audits. It also seeks to help business support organisations interpret the new regulatory requirements and translate them into practical and viable actions.
Beyond developing technical capacities, the initiative highlights the strategic role of energy agencies and one-stop shops as key intermediaries between European policies and their practical implementation. By strengthening these support ecosystems, BUSINESS2ACT aims to accelerate the adoption of energy efficiency measures and renewable energy solutions across companies in different sectors, contributing to a more effective and coordinated transition throughout Europe.
