Energy Efficiency Hub: 2025 Annual Report

A space for cooperation between governments is driving practical solutions to accelerate global energy efficiency, with a particular focus on buildings, digitalisation and financing.

Editorial Team

The Energy Efficiency Hub’s 2025 annual report shows how international cooperation is consolidating as a key driver for advancing energy efficiency policies. The platform, which brings together governments from different regions, strengthens its role as a space for practical exchange, focused on identifying replicable solutions and overcoming common barriers in sectors such as buildings, industry and digitalisation. Throughout the year, the Hub intensified its activities through technical workshops, international forums and specialised working groups, with particular attention to financing building renovations and the growing impact of data centres on energy consumption.

The approach is based on sharing real-world experience between countries, from financing mechanisms to regulatory and digital tools, enabling the translation of policy objectives into concrete actions. At the same time, collaboration with international organisations broadens the reach of these initiatives and reinforces policy coherence. Nevertheless, the report warns that, despite progress, the global pace remains insufficient to meet climate targets, highlighting the need to strengthen political ambition and accelerate the effective implementation of energy efficiency measures.
