In 2025, Buildings Performance Institute Europe (BPIE) consolidated its role as a key actor in shaping European policies aimed at decarbonising the built environment. Its involvement in strategic processes such as the implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, the European Affordable Housing Plan and the European Building Stock Observatory helped to reinforce the link between technical analysis and decision-making.

Through high-level workshops, parliamentary debates, and cross-country collaborative initiatives, the organisation advanced critical issues such as energy poverty, the environmental quality of buildings, and lifecycle carbon regulation, including innovative solutions such as converting offices into housing. At the same time, its international outreach intensified through contributions to global reports and climate forums, as well as the development of benchmarking tools at a global scale. This integrated approach, grounded in evidence and cooperation, strengthens its capacity to guide the transition towards a more sustainable, resilient and inclusive building stock.
