Upskilling and reskilling Italian AEC Professionals and Workers enhancing qualifications and training programs with micro-skills to support building stock decarbonization
Skills2Decarb aims to upskill and reskill the Italian AEC workforce to accelerate the decarbonisation of Italy’s building stock. The project maps existing national qualification schemes against micro-skills needed for emerging green and digital technologies, delivering tailored training modules across two distinct waves: Train-the-Trainers (upskilling internal partner experts and site managers) and Train-the-Trainees (rolled out via blended formats and regional hubs across Italy). S2D formally aligns these micro-skills with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and provides recommendations to update Italian professional qualifications, notably introducing the new Zero Emission Building (ZEB) Manager profile. Supported by an active Ambassadors Board, S2D ensures cross-border recognition, formal qualification updates, and widespread adoption of sustainable building practices.
