BIM4Ren pilot cases to monitor the renovation process
Two case studies in Spain have been used as Living Labs to demonstrate the results of the BIM4Ren project in real renovation process of residential building pursuing different purposes. All have been energy retrofitted from 2019 to 2022 by the contractor company specialised in renovation and BIM4ren consortium member, Kursaal Group.

FlexSNG project
In the time when energy generation for building user consumption is in the center of european research to avoid energy dependance, the EU-funded FlexSNG project proposes to develop a flexible and cost-effective gasification-based process to generate pipeline-quality biomethane, high-value biochar and renewable heat from low-quality biomass residues and biogenic waste.

BRIGHT project
Today’s energy market is humming to a new beat – one that is electrified with larger renewable energy sources and more opportunities for demand response (DR). The EU-funded BRIGHT project will work to maximise the potential of DR at the consumer level, harnessing the potential of blockchain technology to deliver data-driven cross-stakeholder and cross-domain energy fingerprinting services. Specifically, it will design a co-creation process that lifts individual consumers to centre stage in order to deliver a DR that is multi-layered, community-centred, cross-domain, adaptable and multi-timescale.

A new way to exchange energy among UK households
Born from a pioneering collaboration between British companies Rebel Energy and UrbanChain, a new peer-to-peer (P2P) energy exchange will soon be implemented in 3,000 households in the UK, They will receive traceable renewable energy from local generators.

Commission approves €2.98 billion German scheme to promote green district heating
The European Commission has approved, under EU State aid rules, a €2.98 billion German scheme to promote green district heating based on renewable energy and waste heat. The measure will contribute to the implementation of Germany‘s National Energy and Climate Plan and to the EU's strategic objectives relating to the EU Green Deal, in particular the EU's 2050 climate neutrality target.
