RENOVERTY: Implementation activities report
RENOVERTY: Implementation activities report
The RENOVERTY project has issued its Implementation activities report, summarising progress across its pilot regions and detailing practical steps taken to renovate buildings in its rural and peri-urban study areas.
The report summarises the activities and measures implemented in the RENOVERTY pilot countries following the development of the Rural Energy Efficiency Roadmaps (REERs). The measures were designed for two main purposes: to support the practical implementation of the REERs and to contribute to the investment and policy framework.
For implementation, each pilot identified actions from its roadmap to be tested within the project’s timeframe. A minimum of four initiatives were carried out in every region, covering technical, financial, legal, and community-related aspects. Pilots also planned and defined the scope of each action, such as community workshops or the testing of financial mechanisms for renovation.
In relation to the investment and policy framework, the pilots reviewed existing renovation tools and financing schemes and aligned them with the roadmaps to integrate project findings into ongoing programmes. They also identified opportunities to embed the REERs within national and regional renovation policies.
The RENOVERTY project, led by the Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy (IEECP), concludes that accelerating the energy renovation of buildings occupied by households affected by energy poverty requires providing funding for beneficiaries with limited resources, facilitating the renovation process through dedicated organisations, and following guidelines that support households in developing a robust renovation plan.
