Smart Energy Cluster drives the energy transition

The Smart Energy Cluster brings together European projects to turn innovation into real impact. Through collaboration and the exchange of solutions, it promotes an integrated approach that accelerates the energy transition and brings smart energy closer to buildings and cities.

The Smart Energy Cluster initiative is consolidating itself as a key collaborative force in driving the energy transition in Europe, connecting more than 35 projects funded through programmes such as LIFE and Horizon Europe. Born from the need to integrate fragmented efforts and multiply the benefits of innovative solutions in energy efficiency, digitalisation, building renovation, grid flexibility, and citizen engagement, this grouping offers a systemic approach that goes beyond individual initiatives.

After three years of activity and the launch of a dedicated website, the Smart Energy Cluster acts as a bridge between research, policy, and the market, facilitating cooperation among diverse actors, from technology developers to policymakers and interested citizens. The collaboration seeks to make project results more visible, accessible, and applicable, accelerating the adoption of smart energy services and sustainable solutions.

The clustered projects range from methodologies for integrated energy services and automated demand response to the creation of urban environments with renewable energy and digital tools to support end‑user decision‑making.
