On 17 September 2026, the Life BE FREE project will hold its final event marking the culmination of several years of work to advance energy‑renovation financing in Belgium. The initiative has brought public authorities, financial actors, businesses, academia, and civil society together to address legal, administrative, and informational barriers that hinder the uptake of renovation. The event will present the project’s main achievements, introduce the next phase under the Belgian Green Building Council (BGBC) and the Belgian Energy Efficiency Financial Coalition (BEEFiC), and offer participants a clear view of emerging financing pathways for both public and private buildings.

Throughout the day, attendees will hear from ESCO practitioners, explore pilot projects, and engage in discussions with leaders from Embuild, Febelfin, The Shift, VVSG, and other consortium partners on lessons learned and future challenges. 

The programme also includes exchanges with BGBC and BEEFiC on the evolution of renovation finance in Belgium. With opportunities to connect with experts, discover practical solutions and reflect on the future of energy‑renovation funding, the final event aims to strengthen collaboration and support a more effective, scalable renovation ecosystem.
