New European Bauhaus Prizes and Boost 2026
New European Bauhaus Prizes and Boost 2026
The European Commission has opened applications for the New European Bauhaus Prizes and NEB Boost 2026, with 13 winners and a deadline of 17 March to promote sustainable and inclusive projects in the built environment.
The European Commission has launched the call for the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2026 and the complementary NEB Boost for Small Municipalities programme, reinforcing its commitment to a green transition that combines environmental sustainability, social inclusion, and aesthetic quality in the built environment.
Applications may be submitted until 17 March 2026, in an edition that consolidates the initiative’s international dimension and extends its reach beyond the European Union.
In total, 13 main prizes will be awarded, including distinctions decided by public vote and a specific award linked to water resilience, alongside visibility and financial support for finalists. In parallel, NEB Boost will support 20 projects led by small municipalities to facilitate the implementation of local interventions in areas such as renovation, circularity, and community regeneration.
The launch of this call reflects the EU’s ambition to foster creative thinking and transdisciplinary cooperation as strategic levers to address contemporary challenges — such as the climate crisis, social cohesion, and accessibility in built spaces — and to consolidate a policy approach that combines environmental sustainability with quality of life and social justice.
Full details on eligibility requirements, categories, and evaluation criteria are set out in the Guides to Applicants, available on the official application platform.
The finalist projects of the NEB Prizes 2026 will be announced during the third edition of the New European Bauhaus Festival on 9-13 June, while the winners will be revealed during a dedicated NEB Award ceremony in the Autumn of 2026.
