Following the adoption of the Horizon Europe 2026–2027 work programme, the European Commission has launched a new call, managed by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), to support research and innovation projects focused on cross-sectoral solutions for the climate transition, as well as on the supply of sustainable, secure, and competitive energy. The call, open from 5 May 2026 with a deadline of 15 September 2026, has an indicative budget of €223.2 million.

The approach promotes integration across sectors such as energy, industry, and mobility, intending to develop replicable solutions that contribute to decarbonisation and to the efficient and sustainable use of energy.
