The European City Facility (EUCF) is preparing a new series of calls to help cities, municipalities and other local authorities translate their climate objectives into concrete investments. The initiative will provide €11.1 million to support 185 beneficiaries, which will be eligible to receive €60,000 together with technical assistance to develop their investment concepts.

The first call is scheduled for October 2026, followed by two further calls provisionally planned for April and October 2027. Among the new features is the possibility of submitting actions linked to local heating and cooling plans, alongside energy efficiency and clean energy projects. The geographical coverage will also be extended to Montenegro, Moldova and North Macedonia.

This new phase builds on experience that has already supported more than 400 local authorities. The first 330 completed investment concepts represent around €32 billion in planned investment, of which €1.8 billion has already reportedly been secured.
