EUSEW 2026 returns: opportunities for the BUILD UP community
EUSEW 2026 returns: opportunities for the BUILD UP community
EUSEW's 20th edition will bring Europe’s clean energy community together in Brussels and online. With calls now open for Policy Sessions, EUSEW Awards and a stand at the Energy Fair, stakeholders are invited to contribute solutions on energy efficiency, building renovation, and social inclusion.
The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), Europe’s flagship event on renewable energy and energy efficiency, will return in Brussels and online from 9 to 11 June 2026. Organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), its 20th edition will offer a hybrid format to connect participants across Europe. To further strengthen community engagement, a newly launched LinkedIn page provides an additional meeting point for stakeholders interested in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Three open calls are now available and are particularly relevant for the BUILD UP community: the call for Policy Sessions, the call for the EUSEW Awards and the call to host a stand at the EUSEW Energy Fair.
Call for Policy Sessions
The call for Policy Sessions deadline is open until Monday, 26 January at 23:59 CET. It invites proposals addressing key EU energy priorities, including energy efficiency, energy affordability and renewable energy.
Relevant topics include the energy performance of buildings, renovation, heating and cooling, housing and energy poverty. This call offers an excellent opportunity to showcase project results, share policy insights and contribute to high-level discussions at the EU level.
EUSEW Awards
Applications are also open for the EUSEW Awards, which recognise people, projects and initiatives advancing the clean energy transition in Europe. The awards aim to highlight innovative and impactful solutions in energy efficiency and renewable energy that can inspire replication across regions.
Awards are granted in three categories:
- 'SMEs Driving Energy Efficiency', rewarding small and medium-sized enterprises that develop business or financing models that make energy efficiency more accessible and scalable in both buildings and industrial sectors.
- 'Local Energy Action', highlighting projects led by communities, NGOs, cooperatives or local governments that are achieving tangible results in the energy transition at a local level.
- 'Women in Energy', recognising women who are driving significant changes in the energy sector and promoting gender equality.
The call for participation is open until 29 January 2026. A jury will select the finalists between February and March, and the winners will be chosen through a public vote from 5 to 31 May 2026. The results will be announced during the EUSEW Awards Ceremony in Brussels, as part of the Policy Conference.
Call to host a stand at the Energy Fair
Hosting a stand at the Energy Fair offers a valuable opportunity to network with industry leaders and energy experts, increase the visibility of your project or organisation, and engage with stakeholders shaping Europe’s clean energy future.
The Energy Fair will take place entirely at the Charlemagne building, ensuring strong visibility and proximity to the Policy Conference. For the 2026 edition, 30 stands will be available. The call is open to a wide range of participants, including SMEs and start-ups, industry associations, public authorities, citizens’ organisations, youth groups, researchers and energy practitioners. The submission deadline is 12 March 2026; secure your spot now!
