Construction leaders from across Europe launch EU Policy Roadmap towards climate neutral buildings and construction by 2050
Could we achieve a decarbonised, circular, resilient and well-designed built environment by 2050? #BuildingLife is a regional project that aims to drive decarbonisation in the building sector through private sector action and public sector policy. The presented Roadmap outlines the key European Union policy interventions, regulatory measures and tools needed to achieve the 2050 built environment goals.

Social Climate Fund: Parliament’s ideas for a just energy transition
The European Commission has proposed creating a Social Climate Fund to support vulnerable households and small business in the energy transition that is needed to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. It aims to finance incentives for building renovation and for switching to renewable energy sources in buildings as well as reducing energy taxes and fees to address the rising prices of heating fuel.

Adequate Net Zero Rating and Embodied Energy Evaluation – outPHit publishes reports on new approaches
Making retrofits more reliable and improve the overall building performance are core goals of the outPHit project. In order to achieve these goals, the outPHit consortium has now released two new reports on highly discussed issues: a net zero rating approach and an embodied energy evaluation tool.

LIFE call 2022 open: New funding opportunities for the building sector
LIFE Clean Energy Transition 2022 (CET) Call is open for Proposals. Proposals will be accepted until 16 November 2022. This sub-programme aims at facilitating the transition toward an energy-efficient, renewable energy-based, climate-neutral and -resilient economy by funding coordination and support actions across Europe. It will contribute to the implementation of the energy-related actions of the Green Deal, including the ‘Renovation wave’ initiative for the building sector.
