The LIFE GreenRenoV8 project invites building owners, residents, managers, professionals, and decision-makers across five European countries to share their priorities regarding energy savings, comfort, investment costs, seismic safety, and environmental impact.
Renovating a building delivers several benefits at once, and they often pull in different directions: a deep energy renovation cuts bills and emissions but requires a larger investment. Balancing these benefits is not only a technical question, but it also depends on what matters to the people who live in, manage, finance, or regulate the buildings.
In the GreenRenoV8 project, partners from Slovenia, Italy, Greece, Austria and Belgium are developing a common method to compare renovation options, from a moderate energy renovation to a deep renovation combined with seismic strengthening. The method weighs the different benefits of renovation, and the project wants those weights to come from stakeholders in each country rather than from researchers alone. The results will feed into the project's Building Renovation Passport and into recommendations for national renovation support schemes.
The survey, coordinated by the Jožef Stefan Institute in Slovenia, asks respondents to compare two criteria at a time and indicate which they consider more important and by how much. Each criterion includes a short explanation, so no prior technical knowledge is required.
The project invites owners and residents of multi-family buildings, building managers, energy and structural professionals, representatives of municipalities and public bodies, and financiers in the five countries to take part and to share the invitation with colleagues.
