The ePlanet project helps the public sector to switch from fossil fuel-based energy systems to renewable energy sources by facilitating coordination between local and regional authorities. This will be achieved by digitising measures and plans and using innovative big data and artificial intelligence tools.

This project stems from Croatia's emphasis on district heating in its policies and laws. The country has developed the Energy Strategy of the Republic of Croatia for 2030 towards 2050, which includes the importance of increasing energy efficiency in the building, heating and air-conditioning sectors.

The ThermoDust project will work towards new materials for IT equipment with beneficial thermal characteristics, as it is estimated that 40% of the total energy consumption of a typical office building goes to cooling this equipment. In this way, the aim is to develop more flexible materials that will help to reduce the amount of energy used in these buildings for this task.
