DUET project: Building computer replicas of city systems
What does a perfect city look like? City planners are able to test their ideas using a 3D interface to create digital twins. These computer models can help city officials manage resources, enhance economic development, reduce ecological footprints and improve the quality of life for residents. The EU-funded DUET project is leveraging the advanced capabilities of cloud and high-performance computing to evolve the traditional public policymaking cycle using large open-data sources.

LEVEL(S) project
The primary objective of Level(s) is to help construction and real estate stakeholders to reduce the environmental impacts of the buildings they invest in, design, build and occupy, by providing them with a reporting framework that links the building’s individual performance with European policy objectives.

Testing of RES4BUILD integrated energy solution pilots
As the EU-funded RES4BUILD project enters its final year, two pilot systems will undergo testing to investigate and fine-tune the project’s integrated energy solutions. With the recent focus on reducing dependence on external fossil fuels and accelerating the green transition in the European Union (REPowerEU Plan), RES4BUILD hopes its research can support the move to a clean energy future. The project is developing integrated renewable energy-based solutions tailored to the needs of users and installers with the aim of increasing uptake of such solutions for heating and cooling in buildings.
