Building on the success of previous editions held in cities such as Madrid, Brussels, Visby, Benediktbeuern, Krems, and Singapore, Cerema is proud to announce the 6th International Conference on Energy Efficiency in Historic Buildings (EEHB). The event will take place at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France, on 13–14 October 2026.

As climate change intensifies, the building sector plays a vital role in reducing global CO₂ emissions. Historic buildings, which make up around 25% of Europe’s building stock, are central to the cultural identity of many cities. Preserving these structures as functional and comfortable spaces requires retrofit solutions that respect their heritage value while improving energy performance and environmental impact.

EEHB 2026 will gather researchers, professionals, and policymakers to exchange knowledge on innovative approaches to energy efficiency in historic buildings. Topics will include climate resilience, bio-based materials, digital tools, governance, case studies, building physics, professional training, and the contribution of social sciences. 

Sessions will feature technical presentations in French and poster sessions in English.
