BUILD UP has launched a new video series showcasing real-life energy-efficiency examples across Europe. The series highlights how innovative solutions are being implemented in practice, offering tangible insights for professionals working on the decarbonisation of the building stock.

The first case study focuses on the Ruiz Picasso 11 Building in Madrid. With a total surface area of 36,899 m², the building hosts one of the largest office floors in the city and represents a significant example of the transformation of existing assets into high-performance workplaces.

The project stands out for its strong focus on energy efficiency and sustainability. The building integrates advanced automation and environmental management systems, enabling optimised energy use and adaptive control of indoor conditions. These features contribute to improved operational performance and user comfort, aligning with the objectives of the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).

As one of the most advanced smart buildings in Europe, Ruiz Picasso 11 illustrates how digital technologies and integrated design approaches can support the transition towards zero-emission buildings, while delivering flexible and user-centred workspaces.
