Europe’s energy system faces an unprecedented investment challenge, requiring hundreds of billions of euros annually to secure a sustainable future. The Energy Efficiency First (EE1st) principle offers a way to prioritise actions that deliver the greatest societal benefit—enhancing competitiveness, health and economic resilience. This event will examine how to assess multiple impacts simply and effectively, helping policymakers and practitioners identify where efficiency measures can make the biggest difference and where deeper analysis is needed.

Jointly organised by the EU LIFE projects SEED MICAT and ENEFIRST Plus, the hybrid event will bring together experts from across Europe to share experiences, tools and pilot results from Germany, Italy, Czechia, Croatia, Greece and Poland. Participants will explore how EE1st can be implemented in practice, adding value to planning, investment and policy design, and shaping the post‑2030 energy and climate framework. With a poster and networking session for in‑person attendees, the event promises a rich exchange for all those advancing Europe’s energy transition.
