The 2nd World Conference on Sustainability, Energy and Environment will provide its attendees with engaging learning opportunities, lively networking sessions, and a platform to meet and connect with potential research partners and collaborators.

This AIVC/venticool & UNSW webinar "Use of Super Cool Materials for Efficient Building Ventilation and Heat Mitigation" aims to inform designers, engineers, architects, researchers and building professional on the potential of super cool materials, their potential use for ventilation and mitigation purposes, and the future implementation path to be followed.

The Scottish government is willing to incentivise a new tax that would encourage the use of recycled materials in construction, thereby boosting the circular economy. The construction industry could therefore meet its climate and sustainability targets.

The SmartBuilt4EU project organized a workshop about Innovations to upgrade the smartness of the building at Sustainable Places Conference this year with the participation of the SB4EU partners, CINEA on behalf of the European Commission and several EU-funded projects. The workshop hosted presentations from the several EU-supported Innovation projects where the project representatives pitched the value proposition of their expected smart buildings innovations, associated impacts and lessons learnt.

A sustainability consultancy company in London is pioneering in the implementation of "Materials Passports". These are digital data sets which describe characteristics of materials and components in products and systems, giving them “value for present use, recovery and future reuse".

What can be done collectively to ensure a really fair energy transition in times of skyrocketing gas, construction materials, rents, and house prices? The second edition of the Renovation Summit organised by the European Affordable Housing Consortium: Sustainable Housing for Social Impact (SHAPE-EU), Housing Europe, the European Construction, built environment and energy efficient building Technology Platform (ECTP), and Eurocities will bring vital questions and answers to the surface. The two-day event on November, 16th and 17th is arranged in partnership with the European Committee of the Regions and House of Dutch Provinces.

This certified Passive House multi family dwelling in Zaragoza (Spain) has been built taking in particular consideration the occupants´ comfort, such as indoor air quality (IAQ) and acoustics, and ecological aspects, such as aerothermal energy connected to clean renewable electricity and not gas supply. This allows savings in fixed costs, taxes and maintenance.

When taking into consideration poor areas and society, we see that circularity principles are not easily implemented, nor easily understood by people. Indeed, as part of what the Houseful project is doing, there is the need to face the problem in a different perspective, such as, for example, focusing on how much energy would be saved if circularity was applied.
