BEMServer: energy data for building energy management

An open platform that transforms dispersed building data into actionable information: BEMServer supports the monitoring, analysis and integration of energy services, enabling more efficient, data-driven building management.

Editorial Team

BEMServer is an open-source platform designed to support building energy management (BEM) through the integration, organisation and utilisation of data from multiple sources. Its primary function is to act as an intermediary layer that centralises heterogeneous information, including data from building management systems, sensors, weather services and occupancy monitoring systems, making it accessible and usable across a wide range of applications and services.

The platform incorporates a semantic model that enables data to be represented in a consistent and interoperable manner, simplifying the management of information originating from diverse systems. It also provides API interfaces that support the development and integration of tools for monitoring, analytics, forecasting, anomaly detection, and the generation of energy performance indicators.

Thanks to its modular and scalable architecture, BEMServer can be adapted to different operational contexts and requirements, reducing the complexity associated with energy data management. Its open approach encourages collaboration between developers, building managers, and researchers, making it a valuable technological foundation for energy efficiency initiatives, smart building projects, and advanced energy performance management.
