About BUSUnited
The BUILD UP Skills United (BUSUnited) project represents a collaborative initiative under the LIFE Clean Energy Transition (CET) sub-programme, fostering a thriving EU-wide community of practitioners dedicated to promoting sustainable energy skills amongst all professionals involved in sustaining the built environment.
Building upon more than 15 years of experience from the BUILD UP Skills initiative, BUSUnited connects projects, organisations and experts to strengthen capacities, promote innovation and support the large-scale deployment of skills essential for achieving Europe's ambitious climate goals.

What are the BUS United Communities of Practice?
BUSUnited CoPs are dynamic and open collaboration spaces designed for practitioners to share experiences, address common challenges and co-create solutions in the most strategic areas of skills development for sustainable design, construction, renovation, and maintenance.
They follow a challenge-based approach, bringing together diverse actors to jointly tackle real-world challenges identified by the community itself, while building on proven practices and lessons learned across Europe.
BUSUnited starts with 7 Communities of Practice, building on already existing and active thematic communities within the BUILD UP Skills ecosystem. These initial CoPs provide a strong foundation for collaboration from the outset. As the BUSUnited community grows and new needs and interests emerge, additional Communities of Practice will be progressively launched, reflecting members’ suggestions and evolving thematic priorities.

Who do we invite?
BUSUnited CoPs are open to all those involved in skilling and upskilling to support a sustainable built environment.
High participation is expected from the BUILD UP Skills Community, including teams from past and ongoing projects, who bring valuable experience to reinforce upskilling and scale collective impact across Europe.

Whether you have been involved in previous BUS projects or are joining for the first time, your knowledge and perspective are essential to move forward together.
What can you expect?
As a member of our Community of Practice, you will have access to a rich agenda of activities designed to facilitate collaboration, learning and impact, including:
• Regular online and in-person meetings: regular thematic sessions and at least one annual face-to-face meeting.
• Interactive workshops and networking events: Peer exchanges, expert discussions and challenge-based sessions tailored to each CoP.
• Resource sharing and knowledge hub: Access to newsletters, case studies, CoP outputs, national roadmaps, and tools from BUSUnited and the wider BUILD UP Skills community.
• Surveys, feedback and co-creation opportunities: Influence priorities, validate outputs and contribute to shaping future activities.
• Peer-to-peer learning opportunities: Twinning, mentoring and cross-country exchanges that connect national and EU challenges.
• Challenge-based collaboration: Work jointly on concrete topics such as skills recognition, funding sources or national roll-out mechanisms.
• Opportunities to contribute to EU-level outputs: Drafting recommendations, identifying best practices and supporting harmonisation efforts.
