The BUS United Communities of Practice have been officially launched, marking the start of a new EU-wide initiative to accelerate the development of sustainable energy skills in the construction sector

Framed within the EU’s LIFE Clean Energy Transition sub-programme, this project creates dynamic spaces where professionals, trainers, public authorities, companies, and sectoral organisations can share experiences, address common challenges, and co-create solutions relevant to the energy transition.

From its launch, BUS United starts with seven initial Communities of Practice (CoPs), building on existing networks within the BUILD UP Skills ecosystem. These groups address critical issues such as sectoral skills needs, mechanisms to stimulate demand for skills, innovative training methods, recognition of competences, national roll-out of qualifications, funding sources, and synergies at the European level, thus providing a solid foundation for future collaboration and expansion.

The Communities follow a challenge-based approach, seeking not only to exchange knowledge but to build concrete capacities that enable the large-scale deployment of sustainable skills aligned with EU climate and energy objectives. BUS United positions itself as a living space for collective learning and strategic action, reinforcing the idea that transitions require shared and interdependent efforts.

Access to BUS United communities is now available via the BUILD UP portal, offering a central entry point for stakeholders who want to follow the work, connect with peers and take part in the CoPs.
