The LIFE HORIS project has published five policy briefs proposing to strengthen One-Stop Shops as a key tool to facilitate energy renovation, improve the information available to citizens and accelerate the transition of Europe’s residential building stock.
The energy renovation of Europe’s building stock is still progressing too slowly to meet the EU’s climate objectives. Following 33 months of work, the LIFE HORIS project has released a series of five policy briefs based on the experience gained from developing digital One-Stop Shops (OSS) in Italy, Spain and Portugal.
The recommendations demonstrate how these integrated services can simplify the renovation process for citizens by providing access to technical, financial and administrative information, while helping to overcome barriers such as information gaps, the complexity of incentive schemes and the shortage of skilled professionals.
Taken together, the briefs propose a support model that combines digital tools, independent advice and institutional coordination to accelerate deep building renovation and translate Europe’s decarbonisation objectives into concrete action at local level.
