BUILD UP will be present with a physical stand in the 2022 Edition of Covenant of Mayors Investment Forum – Energy Efficiency Finance Market Place, one of the most important dates related with energy efficiency financing, that will take place on 18 October in Brussels and has just opened its registration.

11 municipalities in Serbia have signed a memorandum to improve district heating and cooling and energy efficiency. The funds which will be sent by Switzerland, the EU and the EPBD, and will be utilized to enable the implementation of heat pumps, geothermal, solar thermal, biogas, biomass and waste heat.

European experts from Switzerland, Norway and Iceland have been studying and mapping the impact of climate change on cultural heritage. The aim is to find ways to strenghten cultural heritage resilience in the face of the effects of climate change.

The so-called "Superbonus" for building renovations aims at boosting the Italian economy by providing incentives aimed at improving building energy efficiency. However, it requires strict administrative oversight and the decision to keep has been debated by political parties.

Open call for cities to apply to Pilot Cities Programme which is part of the EU Mission for 100 climate-neutral and smart cities (“EU Cities Mission”), providing €32 million in grants and hands-on support to cities. These piloting activities will turn cities into test beds for climate neutrality and scaling up through a twinning programme.

The green movement cannot be ignored in modern construction. Builders consider numerous elements when creating an eco-friendly structure, but one of the nonnegotiables is indoor air quality. 

Humans have discovered new and sustainable ways to manipulate wood for higher-efficiency buildings. Mass timber – made of softwoods like pine and spruce – is fabricated to form larger sections. These fit together to form sturdy, environmentally friendly structures.

As part of the LIFE Clean Energy Transition call 2022, a topic supports the  rebooting of the BUILD UP Skills initiative at the national level as well as upskilling and reskilling of building professionals at all levels of the value chain.

The LIFE DoppelPlus team advised low-income households in Tyrol on how to minimise energy costs and adopt a more climate-friendly approach to everyday life. This initiative has helped those countries to contribute to the EU’s climate targets for 2030 and 2050.
