This event will explore how the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) is being translated into practical, citizen‑centred renovation support through digital one-stop shops. Drawing on the experience of the LIFE‑funded HORIS project, which has launched three national platforms within consumer organisations in Spain, Portugal, and Italy, the session will examine how digital tools can simplify legal and financial barriers, guide homeowners through available schemes, and connect them with quality‑assured renovation professionals. By presenting the project’s journey and the actors behind the platforms, the event will highlight how HORIS bridges the gap between EU policy and on‑the‑ground implementation.

Looking ahead, the programme will bring together experts to discuss the performance and sustainability of the HORIS model, the business strategies required beyond EU funding, and the role of digitalisation, innovation, and smart‑city data in shaping the future renovation journey. Panels will consider how such tools fit within the EPBD framework and how emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), can support more personalised, robust, and scalable renovation pathways, contributing to the development of Positive Energy Districts (PEDs)
