LCAbyg whole-life CO₂ emissions in buildings tool

LCAbyg is Denmark’s official tool for assessing the environmental impact of buildings across their full life cycle. It calculates resource use, emissions, and hotspots from materials, construction, operation, and end‑of‑life, helping designers make climate‑aware decisions.

FuturHist

LCAbyg is a research‑based tool developed by Aalborg University to calculate the life‑cycle environmental profile of buildings. By entering information on building components and energy use, users receive automatically generated results, diagrams, and reports showing impacts from material production, operation, maintenance, and end‑of‑life.

The tool supports climate‑conscious design by identifying hotspots, comparing scenarios and aligning projects with Denmark’s regulatory requirements for climate impact documentation. Its latest versions include features for renovation modelling and scenario analysis, enabling practitioners to evaluate alternative solutions and improve sustainability outcomes.
