This case study of residential buildings represents the first residential building in the world with an intelligent and consistent combination of photovoltaics, battery storage, synthetic e-gas/biogas and intelligent energy management (hybrid box). This single-family house is Passivhaus certified. Passive measures include, for example, external venetian blinds and deep window reveals to reduce summer overheating, while benefitting from solar gains during winter. It also features rain water harvesting and solar PVs.
