Ambitous targets for renewables, greenhouse gas emission cuts and energy savings

The Energy Community Ministerial Council, including Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia have adopted 2030 targets to reduce energy consumption, increase the uptake of renewables and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In particular, they have agreed on a target of 31% of energy from renewable sources in gross final energy consumption, and to cap GHG emissions at 427.64 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2030. This would mean a decrease of 60.9% below 1990 levels.
