Bosnia and Herzegovina's renovation strategy for 2050

The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted a strategy to renovate buildings by 2050, aiming to reduce energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and boost economic growth through energy-efficient renovations.

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted a strategy for building renovations through 2050, aimed at enhancing energy efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and lowering CO₂ emissions

The goal is to transform existing buildings into energy-efficient, decarbonised structures

By 2050, final energy consumption in buildings is expected to drop from 1,728,500 tons to 1,257,300 tons, and CO₂ emissions from 7,937,000 tons to 2,075,000 tons. 

The renovation programme includes up to 177,663 buildings, with potential energy savings ranging from 1,893 GWh to 3,532 GWh, boosting the economy and improving building quality and comfort.
