Bringing energy efficiency benefits to citizens, public authorities and enterprises

How can the European Union put citizens, public authorities and enterprises at the heart of policymaking?
Giulia Leghissa

The European Citizens’ Panel on Energy Efficiency convenes 150 citizens to address the evolving EU energy landscape amidst recent crises. Discussions center on energy usage across homes, communities, and workplaces, exploring heating, appliances, and transportation. Emphasis lies on individual, communal, and sectoral efforts to enhance energy efficiency, impacting climate, economy, health, and bills.

The Panel aims to craft recommendations for EU initiatives like "Energy Efficiency First," advocating for prudent energy production, investment, and consumption.

The European Citizens´ Panel on Energy Efficiency will take place over three weekends over February and April 2024.

  • 23-25 February - session 1 in Brussels

  • 15-17 March - session 2 online

  • 12-14 April - closing session in Brussels
