The citizen-led renovation initiative is scaling up, shifting focus from pilot projects to creating enabling structures for energy communities

These structures, such as energy agencies, one-stop-shops and local authorities, will provide tailored support to assist communities with building energy renovations

Services will include technical guidance, financial advice, and project management, alongside fostering local ecosystems and training programmes.

The initiative, managed by a consortium led by AESS (Italy), includes partners like FEDARENE and REScoop.eu. With five current enablers, the programme will expand in 2025 to recruit five more. The goal is to scale successful projects and foster sustainable energy transitions across Europe.
