Although geopolitical and energy issues characterised 2022, last year we saw a remarkable acceleration of the energy transition and it still looks very positive for 2023. In fact, clean energy is more cost-competitive than ever, and renewable costs are declining. At the same time, sustainability commitments from companies and financial institutions are also thriving. Policy-making for clean energy, such as FitFor55, REPowerEU, are leading the way towards decarbonisation in Europe.

2023 can thus being seen as the start of a new era in low-carbon transition which is going to accelerate even more. How will this affect countries?
