The România Eficientă Forum, held in Bucharest on 16 April 2024, was an opportunity for experts to discuss the latest revision of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and the consequent key changes, including zero emissions buildings and carbon indicators. 

They emphasised the importance of robust regulations and national renovation plans. Challenges include underperforming renovations and harmonising legislation. Additionally, there's a focus on decarbonising building materials and transitioning to lightweight alternatives.

Cooperation between sectors and supportive legislation are crucial for achieving these ambitious energy efficiency goals.
