The European Commission continues to demonstrate its commitment to reducing energy consumption by hosting a General Assembly of the European Energy Efficiency Financing Coalition and a High-Level Stakeholder Dialogue with EU industrial leaders.

At the General Assembly of the European Energy Efficiency Financing Coalition, the European Commission, EU Member States, and leading financial institutions committed to implementing a work programme for 2025. This programme aims to mobilise private capital for energy efficiency investments and to identify more efficient solutions within Europe’s industrial structure. During the meeting, founding members of the Financing Coalition also shared successful projects already underway, particularly those involving advances in automation technologies and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

At the High-Level Stakeholder Dialogue, both industry leaders and the European Commission identified key barriers to improving energy efficiency and explored potential pathways to overcome them.

The next steps for the European Commission include expanding industry membership and continuing to support EU countries in implementing energy efficiency legislation for buildings.

Together, the General Assembly, the stakeholder dialogue, and other events — such as European Sustainable Energy Week and the IEA Global Energy Efficiency Conference — form part of the roadmap towards a Europe that aspires to become the global leader in energy efficiency.
