€11 Million energy efficiency programme upgrades 32 public buildings
Under the project, energy consumption is forecast to reduce by at least 30 per cent – approximately 11.67 GWh per annum – with carbon dioxide emissions falling by some 3,420 tonnes per year. Additional benefits include enhanced comfort and improved heating and cooling in public buildings, alongside reduced air pollution and a more attractive appearance for the refurbished structures, ultimately.
Financial backing includes an €8 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), while grant funds exceeding €3 million have been provided by the European Union, the Government of Austria, and the EBRD Shareholders’ Special Fund. These funds support technical assistance, energy audits, and further project activities aimed at effectively optimising energy efficiency measures across various sectors.
