The international webinar "TOOLS FOR PLANNING THE ENERGY RENOVATION OF PUBLIC BUILDINGS" took place on 16 June 2022, which was the closing event of the IMPULSE PLUS project. The aim of this webinar was to raise awareness of the potential of the IMPULSE methodology, and the use of the recently developed and improved associated tools, to other public administrations interested in energy planning, such as municipalities, regions, their associations, energy agencies, Covenant of Mayors coordinators and other similar entities and bodies.

In addition, the territories involved in the project, the cities of Valencia and Koper, and the regions of Emilia Romagna and Western Greece, presented the results of the work carried out during the last 16 months.

This work has involved the design or review of 4 plans for the energy renovation of public buildings, one for each participating territory, for which different possible financing schemes have been analysed.  This has entailed collecting information on the year of construction, use of the building, surface areas, number of floors, main construction characteristics and systems and installations of almost 200 buildings, which have been classified into 30 different typologies.

Each typology, represented by an ambassador building, has been thoroughly analysed in terms of its energy performance, and energy, environmental and economic indicators have been calculated for its current state and for 4 upgrading renovation scenarios, through the aggregation of energy efficient measures. For this process partially results from the previous IMPULSE project or from other European projects have been considered.
