Editorial Team

The REHOUSE project, co-funded by the Horizon Europe programme, is developing eight innovative renovation packages ranging from basic upgrades to deep retrofitting. These solutions integrate cutting-edge technologies, circular economy principles, digitalisation, and prefabricated components, with the aim of accelerating the renovation rate across Europe.

The packages are being implemented at four pilot sites, in Greece, Italy, France, and Hungary, where their technical performance, economic viability, and social acceptance will be thoroughly assessed.

With an industrialised, scalable, and replicable approach, the project aligns with the objectives of the European Green Deal and the Built4People initiative, addressing both climate and social challenges. REHOUSE adopts a people-centred strategy, actively involving residents throughout all phases of the process via social working groups and participatory innovation activities. This approach ensures that the solutions respond to real user needs while preserving the architectural and cultural value of the buildings.
