How can NEB values guide sustainable and resilient reconstruction in Ukraine?

19 November 2024
The ongoing war in Ukraine has highlighted the urgent need for sustainable, resilient infrastructure, with European initiatives - like the New European Bauhaus - supporting Ukraine's reconstruction.

The New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative, launched in 2021, aims to address sustainability, community inclusion, and aesthetics in the built environment. While it has made progress through festivals and exemplary projects, widespread adoption remains a challenge.

To advance, upskilling and reskilling are needed across the construction ecosystem. The NEB Academy, already starting in Europe and Ukraine, addresses these needs by training workers on sustainable practices, bio-based materials, and digital technologies

In Ukraine, the NEB Academy Hub will help transform building practices, integrating sustainability, community engagement, and resilience. The initiative seeks to establish Ukraine as a model for post-war reconstruction with NEB values.
