How can One-Stop-Shops help transforming the EU building stock?

These citizen hubs are key to drive local renovation as they empower and guide homeowners.

The European Union faces a significant challenge in aligning its building stock with ambitious climate goals, as buildings contribute to 40% of EU energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions. Initiatives like Save the Homes, funded by the EU, play a crucial role in decarbonising Europe's buildings. Citizen hubs in Valencia and Rotterdam, supported by Save the Homes, act as keystones to drive local renovation efforts, addressing both demand and supply aspects.

A recent workshop explored the role of citizen hubs in enhancing energy renovation rates, emphasising public-private collaboration, effective incentives, and tools to expedite and make renovation accessible. Save the Homes provides tools and reports to support these efforts.
