How construction industry can meet net-zero targets

As the construction and building sector account for up to 38% of total CO2 emissions, they have an important challenge to become more sustainable.

The construction industry plays a critical role in global efforts to achieve net-zero emissions, with potential to contribute up to 38% of CO2 emissions. Despite the urgency, many construction businesses struggle with sustainability commitments, hindered by slow progress in emission reduction. Challenges include limited control over key factors like energy sources and material alternatives, such as concrete.

However, focusing on supply chain management presents an opportunity for significant impact. Localising supply chains, as revealed by YardLink's research, can reduce carbon emissions substantially. Embracing digital tools to streamline operations is crucial for the industry to effectively navigate towards net-zero targets, emphasising the importance of proactive change.
