In order to achieve Europe´s net-zero goal, it is important to address energy efficiency in buildings. While often overlooked, the buildings sector in the EU contributes to 40% of energy consumption and 27% of CO2 emissions.

The revised Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) focuses on data centres and public buildings, aiming to reduce energy consumption by 11.7% by 2030. Moreover, the EED highlights the significance of digitalisation, smart meters, and advanced software solutions for optimal energy management.

The emphasis on energy efficiency in data centres, like Greenergy in Estonia, showcases the potential for technology to drive sustainability and mitigate carbon emissions, envisioning a more efficient and sustainable future.
