The global urban population surge, with an estimated 68% residing in cities by 2050, underscores the need for cities to transition into "smart cities" for sustainable development. Smart cities leverage energy efficiency technologies to optimise resource usage and harness Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for enhanced infrastructure.

The Middle East, facing high energy demand for cooling, presents a significant opportunity for energy-efficient solutions and renewable energy commitments. Urgency exists in raising awareness, retrofitting existing buildings, and updating systems to curb the region's substantial energy consumption. Analysing millions of readings through energy audits and employing modern technologies becomes pivotal for achieving smart and sustainable urban development.
