The ARV project has developed various Living Labs throughout Europe: they are located in Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, and Spain. The main aim of these experiences is to involve the local community in the planning and development of Climate Positive Circular Communities.

In particular, with the lab of Palma de Mallorca (Spain), called "Es Laboratori" is designed for local residents and for the vulnerable sections of the community. The lab offers workshops, seminars and other activities which involves residents to create sustainable neighbourhoods, for example, through the use of virtual reality (VR).

The researchers of the project have specifically developed a method called "S.M.I.L.E" to guide the process of the community engagement work.
