The new independent study published by the Commission, 'The net-zero manufacturing industry landscape across the Member States', examines the net-zero manufacturing industry across the EU, highlighting advancements in sectors such as renewable energy, batteries, carbon capture and heat pumps.
Aiming to address data gaps, it provides a comprehensive assessment of manufacturing capacities and supportive policies in all 27 EU countries.
Key findings include mapping production capabilities and analysing regulatory frameworks, permits, investment incentives, and skills programs.
The study identifies challenges, bottlenecks, and opportunities, with nearly 75% of EU countries implementing incentive programmes.
The EU's Net-Zero Industry Act supports scaling up production, offering a unified regulatory framework to enhance European manufacturing of net-zero technologies.
