Editorial Team

The INFINITE Offsite Academy, held in Milan on 11-12 July 2024, gathered 50 experts and professionals to explore sustainable industrialised building renovation.

Thomas Miorin, CEO of EDERA, opened the event, stressing the urgency of efficient renovations to meet climate targets by 2030-2050. He highlighted Italy's vast number of old buildings and the need to maintain high retrofit rates despite the absence of incentives like the Superbonus.

Martino Gubert from Eurac Research presented INFINITE's offsite redevelopment approach, emphasising the advantages of prefabrication and modularity in enhancing quality and reducing construction time. The event featured presentations by Marco Cucuzza and Marco dal Mas of EDERA on deep retrofitting and Energiesprong practices, and Christian de Nacquard of Bouygues Construction, as well as a presentation of technical solutions for offsite retrofits, including BIM platforms and integrated prefabricated façades. The concluding workshop focused on analysing costs and revenues for retrofit modules.
